PT BEAR*NUM

2001 Chrysler PT Cruiser Limited Edition

In November, 2004, my beloved Woodie was really starting to show his age...  I was getting some noises from the front suspension - and nobody could find the source...  new struts, brakes and more and the noise still continued...  So, with nearly 153000 miles on his odo, Woodie was traded for my 'new' baby...

This is a pic of Bear*Num at a local PT event.

The new look arose from disaster, much like the Phoenix from the Fire. After an event in San Diego 2005, PT Bear*Num was hit while beind towed behind the motorhome. Once he was fixed, and back up to snuff, the changes began....

Less than 27K original, ONE OWNER miles...

Here's PT Bear*Num at the Summerfest 2005 event in Southern California. We had a BLAST!!!
Mom's PT in front, mine in the driveway....

There's mom's 2002 in front, with my newest baby in the driveway....  it was raining in Vegas and almost time for my trip home to LB in my Silver Bullet....

The 'original' look. But there were changes to come....

This is the working on a weekend project...  first a GREAT bath...  then, adding of a 3 level tape stripe with an iridescent metallic glow - changing color in the light from a tealish blue, growing darker through deep sapphire into purple and onto eggplant and to a near black...  all shiny and metallic...  Very impressed, was I....

The finished Project - Stripes

The finished project - stripes....  this is after the completed stripe project and a completion of the detailing - wax, etc.

Also added.....

Here's another shot of the stripes, but I had also previously added the rear bumper cover....  it's the black, ribbed panel on the bumper top...  I had purchased it on eBay and added it a few months after my initial purchase....  the ribbing matches the markings on the panel at the bottom of the hatch opening.

This is one of my favorite images

A collage of images of the before and after of the stripe project....

Notice the pic of my dog (nibbler) in the back?!?  Nibbler is a TOTAL car dog and loves going for rides - long or short - in the PT....

More upgrades to come?!?

Upgrades continue to take place....  I've added a cold air intake for improved breathing - getting more oxygen into the cylenders...  This should give a bit more power, but also a bit more economy, as the fuel is burned better with more fuel...  at least that's the theory behind the cold air intakes....

Future mods?  Hmm....  Don't know yet....  Stay TUNED!!
